  • As of now, the 2020-2021 school year will start on August 13th, and Chinese classes will officially begin on August 17th (Monday). However, due to the uncertainty of the pandemic, the school has made a few changes to the Student Handbook in accordance with new guidelines. Because school districts have not yet announced the format of classes, Happy Childhood will follow the newest guidelines and cooperate with English schools, providing our parents with the most convenient services, while ensuring the quality of our students' learning by providing online learning for Chinese lessons. In response to parents' needs, Daycare services will be open at 8:30am in the morning. We kindly ask that students please bring their own devices, headphones, and chargers. Teachers will assist and supervise students while they are learning online. Due to limited spacing, please text 408-718-2156 to register as soon as possible.
  • Thank you for asking about summer camp and sharing the summer camp information.
    Regarding online teaching in the summer afternoon, there are two classes from Monday to Thursday. Since there are students from other schools asking about our courses, the class time of each grade depends on the number of students enrolled and the level of Chinese. The two classes in the afternoon will start at 2:00 pm and end before 4: 30 pm.
    Since our online courses also provide hand-made lessons, if you are sure that your child will choose summer online courses, please register first by sending text to (408) 718-2156, in order to prepare teaching materials, then send registration form with check to Happy Childhood. Thank you!
  • From next week (5/4/2020), the school will comply with the regulations of Santa Clara health department and provide daycare services for parents who must go out to work. If daycare services are required, parents must register with the school in advance (408) 718-2156. If there are five students or more registered, school will open from 8:30 am, and please bring your own lunch. During the opening period, teachers and students entering school must measure body temperature and bring their own masks. In the afternoon, we still have Chinese online teaching, parents can prepare iPads or computers for their children. If there is further news from the relevant department, we will keep in touch with parents.
  • In order to prevent our students from leaving Chinese behind during the suspension period, There is a daily Chinese ZOOM online teaching from Monday to Thursday, start from next Monday (3/23).Chinese online teaching and math practice in the school are provided for two weeks (3/23-4/3).
  • Based on the update and current information from the Santa Clara County Public Health Department and the Santa Clara Office of Education, public schools will close from 3/16 (Monday) to 4/3 (Friday), closing for three weeks.

  • 2/25/2015. Summer 2015 Program enrollment begins. This year we plan to add more puppetry to the summer cultural curriculum. Other courses include computer, English, wood painting, creative art, etc. Parents are welcome to visit the school website to learn more details.
  • 2/17 - 2/20 (Winter Recess). Daycare services begin at 8:30 a.m. In the afternoon, there will be normal classes such as Chinese writing and other courses.
  • 2/2 - 3/4 from 5:15 to 6:00 we will have CAASPP test simulation exercises every Wednesday.
  • The school year is quickly coming to an end. For our 2014 fall school year we will add a couple of new activities to our program as well as new curriculum programs. All information about our new activities and curriculum programs, please check our student handbook for more detailed information. If you have any questions regarding the new activities or new curriculum programs, please contact any of our teachers or office.
  • The Advanced class (8th – 12th grade) is the graduating students of our school. If your child is 8th-11th grade and their school requires students to have volunteer hours, Happy Childhood can help sign off for their community service hours. If your child would like to apply to be a TA for Happy Childhood, the policy for volunteer and TAs (12th graders) are as is:
    1. Must have sufficient Mandarin listening, speaking, and reading skills.
    2. Their GPA at school must be at least 3.7 (unweighted).
    3. They must be responsible and a team player.
    4. They must be a good role model. Definition for a role model: A role model is a
        person whose behavior, example, or success is or can be emulated by others,
        especially by younger people.
    5. TAs must have taken and passed Algebra 2 Honor, Trigonometry, Pre-Calculus
         and/or AP Calculus.
  • As our school does not have a facility to hold events for students to show the work or performances they have done, therefore, we will put up videos and/or pictures of your children on our website (www.happychildhoodedu.com). Please visit our website for the most updated pictures, videos, and information. Please check off on the last page of the student handbook whether you approve or disapprove of us putting your child’s picture on our website. For our next school year, we will be offering recorder, percussion, singing, etc. classes for your child to attend. We also hope to incorporate different western and eastern instruments as accompaniment in our music activities. If parents can please let us know what instruments your child can play so we can make arrangements.
  • We are very grateful to all the parents’ cooperation and support throughout the year. We sincerely apologize for all the inconvenience from the reconstruction of the plaza, parking, etc. If you plan to send your child to Happy Childhood or not, please turn in the last page of the student handbook by 5/31 so we can make arrangements.   • There is a limited amount of T-shirts available, therefore it will only be available for students that register for the Culture weeks.
  • Ms. Shwu’s Music Class at Happy Childhood will hold their 2014 Piano Recital 2:00pm on May 3rd at Westhope Presbyterian Church.
  • MPM Center held a 2014 IMEC Mathematics competition. A 5th grade student from our school, Tiger Che has received an honorable mention. They will hold an awards ceremony on May 10th 1:00PM-4:00PM at the Cupertino Senior Center.
  • 4/14 – 4/18 is Cupertino Spring Break. Regular classes will resume in the afternoon. Students will be working on Chinese Idioms and essay writing.
  • 4/14 – 4/18 Modeling Classes will be provided in the morning.
  • 3/19 – 4/23 For the next 5 weeks, during the class period on Wednesday, 2nd grade students will do STAR TEST practice tests while 3rd – 8th grade students will do SBAC practice tests.
  • 2/14 – 2/18 is the Mid-Year Break. . Regular classes will resume in the afternoon. Students will be working on Chinese Idioms and essay writing.
  • 2/14 – 2/18 Modeling Classes will be provided in the morning.
  • Current Happy Childhood students may register for Summer Camp.
  • Friday January 31st is the first day of Chinese New year, 5th grade students will doing a Lion Dance performance.
